What is ripe in June? STRAWBERRIES!! In two days Laurel and I went strawberry picking twice, and they were just as delicious the second time. The farm is off Handy's Bend. I told the sweet grandpa who owns the farm to charge me extra since Laurel ate so many when we were picking, alas he refused and insisted that is exactly what he wanted her to do. The first day we went with Callie then came home and painted our fingernails.
The next day in the afternoon we headed out again with the ladies and babies from our play date group. It was so sweet to see all the little kids loving those strawberries. After we got done picking, a few of us headed up to High Bridge playground and ate watermelon. It was a marvelous day!
When Maren came in town we met up at Asuka Hibachi Restaurant. It was a first for Maren and Laurel! And from the looks of the pictures they both loved it.
Laurel is quite expressive just like her Momma, in a matter of a couple minutes she made a few faces.
Stephanie and Callie invited us to their pool for the day. Laurel loved running around making friends with anyone who would pay her attention and even some that would not give her the attention.

There was one night that Laurel just would not do to sleep, after getting up several times during the night I turned off the monitor and tried to go to sleep. I woke to a quiet house and the bed to myself. I ventured out into the living room to find these two cuties curled up on the couch together.
The afternoon of Sunday the 16th we headed out to Shakertown to hike on their trails again. The thistle were in full bloom, Laurel found a snake skin first thing. Then Todd found a mulberry tree and did his best to fill his stomach. We eventually made out way down to Shawnee Run Creek were Laurel explored. When it came time to leave, Laurel made it clear she did not want to go anywhere! That girl needs a creek in her backyard.
On the 17th we headed to the pediatricians office for Laurel's 18 month checkup. She was 32.25 inches tall (67%), weighed in at 23.6 pounds (39%), and had a head circumference of 47.5cm (76%). Brittany came for a visit with Snickers
The Banuses came for another sweet visit from the 20th to the 24th. We were able to go for a hike in the Gorge where we were delighted to find the blueberries were ripe and ready to be picked and eaten! We took a loop trail and made our way to Gray's Arch. After the hike we tried to take a swim in the reservoir... sadly it is closed to we just hung out in the creek by the Natural Bridge parking lot. Then we ate Miguels! Oh the joy!
We finished up the month with lots of outdoors. The last picture of Laurel and our cat Theo taking a walk together! Who needs dogs anyway when you have a cat like him?
