Mahem in May

May was a busy busy month!  Our friend Courtney Pickerill had a baby shower for her Nora Jane on the 12th.  This was Laurel's first time, outside the womb, attending a baby shower.  The very next day was my first Mothers Day.

A few days later on the 16th, we filled up our bags and headed to the airport to board our first flight to Texas for David and Natasha McMillans wedding.  We did not even check our bags!  Skills.  It was a pretty uneventful flight but Laurel had a hard time being in a new place.  The first morning there she woke up with  pink eye, so we spend the day trying to get her some drops for her.

All the wedding festivities were beautiful and much fun.  It is always a good time when the McMillans are involved!  We got to take Laurel to the pool and she enjoyed swimming with her daddy.  We were thankful that our friends, Phil, Jen, and their son, Will came up to San Antonio from Houston to spend a few days with us.

Somehow we fit in a hike at Raven Run for our anniversary

We got back to KY just in time for our anniversary on the 22nd!  We took a hike out at Raven Run together for our 8th year as a married couple.  The very next day Laurel sat up by herself.  Then 3 days later headed out for another vacation to the Smoky Mountains.  There we were able to hike Laurel up to Laurel falls, explore Elkmont (how did I manage not to visit there until now?), and take a hike some trails around Abram Creek where we saw a bear.  We also saw a bear where we parked to hike up to Laurel Falls.
